Assignment OBJECTIVE By the end of this assignment 15 SSA BDS partners should be able to design and conduct professional online trainings. Each BDS partner should master at least two online training and coaching platforms and have practical skills in utilizing them for their training and coaching activities.MAIN TASKSTo reach the mentioned objective the expert/ consultant should build the capacity of the partners’ teams on how to turn ‘regular’ offline/ face-to-face/physical training and coaching material to make it appropriate for online platforms and how to digitize training ‘techniques’ to engage their audience and utilize the latest technologies for an enhanced, professional and tech –savvy experience. Trained staff should be able to transfer the acquired skills and knowledge to their colleagues and new staff.The short-term technical expert/consultant is expected to execute the following tasks:1- Assess current online training capacities of the selected BDS staff for representing 6 BDS partners. A total number of maximum 20 trainers and/or coaches will be assessed to evaluate the general skills gaps and skills to be develop to transform trainers and coaches to online trainers and coaches.2- Develop a comprehensive training manual on digital training skills, latest technology platforms for online training and coaching and how to utilize them for conducting online trainings, webinars, online workshops and mentoring and coaching sessions.3- Training up to 40 selected BDS staff on how to conduct online training and coaching utilizing the developed material. Training will be online and will include application on the training tools described in the manual.4- Conduct up to 12 individual and group coaching sessions for trained BDS staff. Coaching sessions should include simulation of online trainings, webinars and workshops to assess the practical skills of the trained staff post training.5- Develop a report on the on assignment’s results and technical recommendations for SSA and its partners. DELIVERABLESUpon activation of the contract, the expert/consultant will work with the SSA appointed technical supervisor to produce the work plan addressing the task/s mentioned above and the deliverables’ time frame. Deliverable Deliverable Description Deliverable 1 1 Induction report including the assignment work plan and the initial rapid assessment of training and coaching needs of 20 representative trainers and/or coaches highlighting the findings of the assessment and the identified skills gap to transform trainers and coaches to mastering training and coaching digitization. Deliverable 2 1 training manual on online training and online coaching skills, the latest technology supporting training digitization and the latest online platforms, applications and tools for developing and conducting professional online trainings, webinars, group and/or individual coaching sessions and online workshops. Deliverable 3 1 Training manual on how to digitize training and coaching material and utilize the latest online training platforms, tools and technologies for conducting successful online training and coaching activities. Deliverable 4 2 Full days’ trainings for selected BDS staff (trainers and coaches) on how to digitize training and coaching services utilizing the approved training material. Deliverable 5 12 Individual and/or group coaching sessions each between one and three hours with selected BDS trainers and coaches. Coaching sessions should include overseeing a simulation of online training and coaching presented by the trained BDS staff and give them feedback on how to improve their skills and apply the new techniques they acquired during the training. Deliverable 6 12 Reports on the 12 individual and/or group coaching sessions. The reports should highlight the simulation process and the skill level of the trained BDS staff and identify any areas that require further improvement in their online training and coaching skills as well as recommendations to SSA for future capacity building activities. Deliverable 7 1 Assignment report on the results, challenges and recommendations of the expert on the online training and coaching needs and prospects of its partners. Deliverable 8 1 Presentation to USAID SSA team presenting all the above. LEVEL OF EFFORT & COMPENSATION · This assignment is expected to be completed between March 1st and April 30th, 2021.· The tasks performance period (30 days) includes a maximum LOE of 15 full working days for the consultant.· STTA’s fees are expected to cover the cost of his/her time and technical expertise.· In-Country travel and accommodation costs will be covered by USAID SSA in accordance with FinBi expense reimbursement policies and procedures. · Payment terms to be agreed upon in the contract upon agreement between the consultant· Taxes will be deducted in accordance with the applicable Egyptian laws and regulations. REPORTINGThroughout the task performance period, the consultant will report directly to Hamed Ali, Team Lead for Financial and Non-Financial Services – USAID SSA.The Consultant is to provide, at identified dates, regular updates on activities performed to be sent by email to the identified USAID SSA supervisor(s). Reports and presentation will be provided according to templates to be provided by USAID SSA and all deliverables will be approved by the SSA supervisor(s). - A minimum of 10 years’ experience in online and offline training is a must, additional experience in enterprise development, specialized digital solutions, business management, and/or a mix of other relevant areas of expertise are additional scoring points for the consultant.
- Referenced solid experience in newly developed and post COVID adopted online training and online conferencing applications and tools.
- Recent experience in conducting online training and/or coaching events/ sessions.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in training, coaching and capacity building in similar fields.
